Tuesday’s celebration of His Eminence’s Nameday concluded with a Divine Liturgy in the PAOI’s chapel (dedicated to St. Demetrios the Great Martyr), attended by students from the University of California, Berkeley, and the Graduate Theological Union; representatives from Roman Catholic Church and Malankara Syrian Church; members of the PAOI Board of Trustees; area Orthodox faithful, and friends of the Orthodox Institute. His Eminence was the sole celebrant. The Liturgy was highlighted by a moving sermon regarding the importance of strong faith in today’s world, especially in important schools and universities. After Liturgy, a special dinner for the students and guests that included a sharing of backgrounds and perspectives was hosted by the PAOI family.
